All cadets need to be in good physical condition to pass the physical training tests. You need to be able to pass the SFO entrance physical training test (PT) to complete your application process.
The PT entrance exam test date will be held prior to the start of the SFO session.
In addition to the SFO entrance PT exam, you will also need to pass an exit physical training test. Details of the tests are as follows:
SFO Entrance:
- Vertical Jump – 14.5 inches
- Push-Ups – 14 Reps (Maximum repetitions with no time constraint and no rest during this phase of the test)
- Isometric Plank – :30 Second
- 1.5 Mile Run – 16:11
SFO Exit / LEO Entrance:
- Vertical Jump-15 inches
- Push-Ups – 16 Reps (Maximum repetitions with no time constraint and no rest during this phase of the test)
- Isometric Plank – 1:00 – One Minute
- 1.5 Mile Run – 15:37
LEO Exit:
- Vertical Jump – 17.5 inches
- Push-ups – 21 (Maximum repetitions with no time constraint and no rest during this phase of the test)
- Isometric Plank – 1:30 – One Minute 30 Seconds
- 1.5 Mile Run – 14:46
The procedure and order for testing is recommended as follows:
- Warm up prior to the performance of the Vertical Jump test and rest for 5 minutes.
- Perform the Push Up test, then rest for 7 minutes.
- Perform the Isometric Plank test and rest for 5 minutes.
- Perform the 1.5 Mile Run and cardio-cool down for 5 minutes.
