Utah Tech provides a satellite academy in Southern Utah, designed for individuals considering a career in law enforcement.
In concert with Peace Officer Standards and Training Council, our mission is to provide professional standards and training, leadership and certification for peace officers and dispatchers as we work to protect the rights and privileges of Utah’s citizens while elevating the integrity of the profession.
We offer two sessions each year, held in January and August.
Applications for August 2026 are being accepted now through July 2026.
The next Special Function Officer (SFO) will begin on August 20, 2026, and the Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) session will begin in January 2027. SFO is a prerequisite for attending LEO. If you are already SFO certified and need to attend LEO only, please contact Sarah for information and dates for the course.
To apply, please contact our office prior to filling out an application. We will provide you with the information needed to apply. Please be advised that seats are limited, and the application should be submitted promptly to ensure a spot.
